Humility may be a virtue, but sometimes an anti-humility song can be fun. Какой же я милый (How sweet I am, 2015) offers a whole list of compliments to the self, all in just under a minute.
Because what am I (какой же я) besides милый (sweet)? Also классный (cool), чудесный (wonderful), and прекрасный (splendid). Too handsome (слишком красивый) for this planet (для этой планеты), and on top of all that, клёвый (cool) and великолепный (great).
No wonder girls at night (девочки ночью) cry into their pillows (в подушки рыдают) and dream of their unreachable hero. Dear God (Господи Боже), save and have mercy (спаси и помилуй)!
( Lyrics)
The word милый is used for a lot of things, from friendly to cute. There’s room for debate over translating it as “sweet,” just like with any other translation. Check out Wiktionary English and/or Russian, or see Reverso or bab.la for more.
МВиПД (or MViPD) stands for Моисей Великанов и Повелители Добра, which translates roughly to Moses of the Giants and the Rulers of Goodness. They, too, are классный, чудесный, and so on.
There’s also a live performance (somewhere
backstage, 2015), a live version from a
practice room (2016), and Vladislav practicing some more on his
bed (2017).
